My 40th Birthday Giveaway!

I am turning 40 in this last week of June! To celebrate I have re-done my blog (still a work in progress) and I am hosting a giveaway here to thank all of you for following and hanging out here with me. (There are some Mason Jars up on the right if you want to find me in other places on the web.)

The prize is a $50 gift card to Mad About Patchwork a Canadian online and brick & mortar shop.

They have been super nice to me and I want to thank them and also support shops in my country. 🙂 To enter, please use the Rafflecopter below. If you are not on Facebook you can sign in with your email address.

After that, head over to my Instagram page if  you like and enter to win 52 charm packs from my stash (1 for each of my years + the 12 days of Christmas… just because) and a roll of Peppermint Divine Twine. The charm packs are varied but there are a few Bonnie & Camille, Aneela Hoey and the 12 Christmas ones are from “Holiday Happy” by The Happy Zombie. Use hastag #daydreamsbirthday40 and tag me @daydreamsofquilts (There’s a typo on the hashtag in my post.)

New followers are welcome to enter and these giveaways are open to anyone worldwide. The giveaway will close on July 2, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

  1. Medovik is my favourite cake, my mother used to make it when we were little, and then somewhat randomly a friend of my husbands made one for him when we had just started courting so that he could invite me for tea and cake one day. It worked!

  2. Happy Birthday To you Welcome to a Great Decade. I like any cake that I dont have to make.
But a light sponge fresh real whipped cream and fresh fruit is the best.

  3. Happy birthday!! My favourite cake is made of dark chocolate, egs and sugar (no flour!) and the stuffed with raspberries and whipped cream – we have it at every family birthday

  4. I love all kinds of cake… Black Forest, Carrot Cake, Cheese Cake, Chocolate Cake…. I seriously could go on here!!! Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy your special day and I hope that it is special in every way!!

  5. Happy Birthday! I will be 50 July 4th. My favorite cake is Chocolate with Chocolate frosting! Thanks for the generous giveaway.

  6. Love, love, LOVE cherry chip cake. I can't get it here in Japan, so luckily my birthday just happens to fall in the summer when I'm visiting home. Happy birthday to you! 40 is when everything comes together nicely. 😉

  7. Haha- one I don't have to make! My daughter's birthday is close to mine so we always have our parties together. So far "I" have had an owl, a very hungry caterpillar, a mermaid and a lion.

  8. I love carrot cake, which I supose is a bit unusual for a birthday cake. I love the yummy carrots and the cream cheese frosting. YUM!

  9. Chocalate 7 days a week and 3x on your birthday! Anita thank you for sharing your love of quilting.
THank you husband for service to your Country. I'm a US Army veteran.
Congrats on baby three, what a special place that baby will be welcomed into.
THank you so much for the giveaway.

  10. My little girl just had her first real birthday party last night. She had a white cake with white frosting and a little custard inside. The baker made it all Tinkerbell. So now I wanna say Tinkerbell-ish is my favourite cake. 😀

  11. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you. It is better then me singing it. I would have carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. My favorite.

  12. Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday cake is red velvet because that is what my grandfather used to make for me. Thanks for your inspiring blog!

  13. German chocolate. Although I've now gone on a restricted diet, so it would have to be something from Rylie Cakes (maybe their lime bars) or from PCC (maybe their allergy-free chocolate cupcakes).

  14. I usually have chocolate but I am also partial to anything flavoured with mint, almond, or coconut. Have a wonderful birthday. x

  15. Happy 40th birthday! I hope you do something wonderful to celebrate your new milestone birthday. Myfave birthday cake would be a split lemon cake. I love lemon cake.

  16. Happy birthday! And the Bavarian Chocolate Torte, it comes from the 70's versions of Betty Crockers Cookbook. It is a variation of the Two Egg Chocolate Chiffon Cake. You end up with 6 layers of light fluffy cake and frosting. The chocolate flavor is present but not overwhelming, the frosting perfectly complements the flavor and texture of the cake. You make it a day ahead and it tastes even better after that night in the fridge. It's a dream 🙂

  17. Happy birthday! I usually pick chocolate cake with extra vanilla frosting for my birthday, there is something magical about a homemade birthday cake.

  18. Happy Birthday _ hope that you have a fabulous year filled with all the things that bring you joy. I used to love Dairy Queen Ice cream cake but I can't eat that much dairy anymore so I my choice would be watermelon cake( a watermelon cut in the shape of a layer cake- iced with whipping cream and covered with berries on top and slivered almonds. It is delicious and easy to digest- very refreshing..

  19. Happy birthday. The forties are great years. I love lemon cake with raspberry filling and lemon icing with slivers of lemon rind.
