I have had a productive weekend! (Long weekends are good for that!) Not only did I get my flower gardens and containers planted but I finished a throw quilt and a mini quilt.
Here is my “Light Bright” quilt made with Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt. This quilt was made to use up scraps left from my “Hashtag Quilt” which was recently raffled off by my local Military Family Resource Centre (a non-profit organization) and raised over $700.00.

The “Light Bright” quilt measures 48″ (four feet) by 72″ (six feet) and is available for sale here. The bright Chicopee fabrics are set against a white background and the overall feeling is light and fun. I thought this would be perfect for a tween or teen’s room or lounge area but it would also fit in well in a modern decor scheme.

The “Light Bright” quilt was on my Q2 Finish Along list so I am so pleased to have a finish that I will be able to link up at the end of the second quarter of the year. 🙂
I also sewed this mini quilt for the May birthday girl in my #CanuckBirthdayClub. She loves modern and she loves Carolyn Friedlander so I came up with this design using all Carolyn Friedlander fabrics. I am calling it “Horizon Lines”. To me, it’s like looking through ship’s portals at the ocean horizon line in different lights or different parts of the world. The squiggly quilting lines make me thing of water vapour rising from the ocean’s surface.

I used my Drunkard’s Path dies and my Sissix ‘Big Shot’ to cut the pieces. The circles are all from the Botanics Line and the background is from the Doe line.
