“Toque, eh?” Winter Hat Quilt Pillow or Block Pattern

I finally got it together and built the PDF pattern file for my “Toque, eh?” pillow cover pattern now that the pattern rights have reverted to me from the magazine. This pattern makes a 16″ pillow cover but could also be used as a quilt block.

This pattern is available on our website and on Etsy.

This “Toque, Eh?” pattern first appeared in the June 2017 issue of “Quilter’s Connection Magazine.” In Canada we call a knitted winter cap a “toque”. (Pronounced Took – rhymes with “juke” or “fluke”.)

This pattern uses two drunkard’s path blocks to make the main body of the hat and simple piecing to create the ribbed band of the hat.

The PDF file is seven pages and includes the drunkard’s path templates and computer diagrams along with written instructions. There is also a link to a YouTube video showing how I sew curved seams.

The finished pillow cover size is 16″.

Fabric requirements:
1 fat quarter of white solid
1 fat quarter of red solid
¼ yard of red and white gingham
½ yard of backing
