New pattern launch! The Broken Heart Pixel Heart pattern is launching out into the world at last! This pattern has been in the works for a while!
I was inspired to design this quilt by actually having my heart broken by a friend. We humans are not always happy and sometimes our experiences in life are heartbreaking.
My teen daughter has already asked me to make her one with a black background so she can be “Emo” with it. If you have a teenager… you know.
I quilted the crack in the heart with jagged lines and did so for the heart as well to make it look like the heart is breaking all over. The background is quilting with free motion stippling.
I used a crosshatch print of red on white for the binding. I love using crosshatching or stripes for bindings. There are lots of text prints in the background fabrics which has become another signature of my quilts.
I have held onto the adorable Lizzy House ghost fabric for years. I finally used it in this quilt. My husband joked that they are “ghosts of relationships past.” Ha ha!
