Free DIY Fabric Lanyard Sewing Tutorial

This week I decided to add fabric ID badge and key ring lanyards to the stock in my shop. I also made a tutorial video to show others how to make these too!

To make a lanyard you will need:

  • A three inch by width of fabric strip of cotton fabric
  • Two 2.5 inch x width of fabric (20”) strips of Shapeflex 101 interfacing
  • A lobster swivel clasp
  • A split ring key ring
  • A rivet set (optional) and setting tools
  • Coordinating polyester thread

The tutorial video is about 10 minutes long and you can watch it on the Daydreams of Quilts YouTube channel .

Enjoy making this easy to sew DIY project. Lanyards are available in my shop while supplies last.

Easy DIY Pennant Flag String

Here is a fun free video tutorial for how to make an easy Pennant Flag String for reusable eco-friendly birthday party or holiday decor. I made a YouTube video to show you how to make it and you can have this project finished in under an hour.

For this project you will need one yard of fabric for the flags (or four 8 1/2″ strips) and a half yard of fabric for the string. I used a Creative Grids equilateral triangle ruler. You can find one like it at Troll Brothers Quilt Designs here.
